We sat in a ring and sang a song in music class today. Each kid had a turn to pick a tune we all knew by heart. We clapped our hands and kept the beat with slow steady taps. Tom sang loud and made us all laugh with his funny face. Sara sang soft and we all hushed to hear her clear sweet voice. When the song was done we clapped again and bowed with smiles. The man with the drum hit it once more for a final loud beat. We stood up and bowed like stars on stage and felt proud and glad. We felt glad to be out in the fresh air with friends near. The day went fast and left us tired but full of good cheer. Mom smiled and said we did well and should rest a bit now. We made plans to do it all again when the sun comes back. Birds sang in the trees and the world felt calm and bright.
