I go home after a long day at school with my bag and books. I put my bag on the bed and sit down to rest my legs. Mom made hot soup and warm bread for us to share at dusk. We eat at the table and talk a bit about our day and plans. Dad reads the news and I do my work at the desk with care. Then I take a bath and put on soft pajamas and dry my hair. I get in bed and turn off the lamp and pull up the quilt. Soon I am fast asleep and the house is calm and still. I dream of games and trips and pals from my class at school. The clock ticks soft and the moon sends pale light in the room. We felt glad to be out in the fresh air with friends near. The day went fast and left us tired but full of good cheer. Mom smiled and said we did well and should rest a bit now. We made plans to do it all again when the sun comes back.
