We went to a farm on a trip last week with our whole class. Cows stood in the field and ate green grass in the warm sun. Chickens ran in the yard and pecked at seed on the dry ground. A horse neighed loud from the red barn at the top of the hill. We fed hay to a goat and pet a soft lamb with curly wool. The man let us hold warm eggs from the nest in the coop. We bought fresh milk and jam at the stand near the farm gate. It was fun to see how farm life works from dawn to dusk. We felt glad to be out in the fresh air with friends near. The day went fast and left us tired but full of good cheer. Mom smiled and said we did well and should rest a bit now. We made plans to do it all again when the sun comes back. Birds sang in the trees and the world felt calm and bright.
